It always amazes me how everyone pays out Porsches about being boring.
To be honest, I was one of them until I got the chance to really drive them (911's, Boxters, Caymens & the list goes on). They are fantastic cars & would have one in a heart beat. Sure, since they do everything so well that they seem, well, dull. But I dare say there aren't too many modern cars (Well, this side of 500k) that provide that real raw driving experience. Sadly, emissions codes, safety regulations, etc have really stuff it up for us real driving enthusiasts
Good amount of changes & upgrades have taken place with the 991... But as always with the 911 series, it doesn't really show

if you didnt want cheap and cheerful, there's the renaulsport megane (many call this the best driver's hatch money can buy), ford focus ST & RS, bmw 135i, bmw 335 & m3, the list is decent.
as steering feedback becomes duller and duller, steering weight lighter, cars becoming heavier with weight that manufacturers will "offset" with bigger turbos bolted to bigger engines, im hoping that there might be SOME manufacturers out there that dont forget that there are some of us that really dont give two f'ks that supercar A has 441kw and does 0-100km/h in 3.15, but supercar B only has 429kw and yet can do 0-100km/h in 3.09sec......
i hope im not alone when i say the idea of a light, basic (no, i dont want 20 f'king buttons on my dash, or electric folding mirrors, ffs), ESP defeatable, nimble, not-too-powerful-but-you-know-what-it-really-doesnt-matter-because-even-though-my-car-isnt-capable-of-367km/h-it-still-puts-a-huge-smile-on-my-face-when-im-driving-up-over-reefton-spur kind of car appeals to me WAY more than anything worth the price of an average house.
(although you'd get to pork more pretty girls if you had a lambo or a pagani, granted).Last edited by Buller_Scott; 23-08-2011, 01:15 AM.
