  • Help needed with Brakes

    Anyone have any idea why I cant compress my brake caliper.
    Replacing rotors and pads, have caliper off but now cant compress it to get over new pads.
    Please help so I can finish them today and get to worl tomorrow.

    Is this a back one? They need to be wound back in NOT squeezed. If it's a front, that should defo push back. Try putting it back over the disk with the pads in and lever it with a big screwdriver or something.

      Yeah back one.. ahve tried the screwdriver.
      So actually turn it?

        The 2 cut outs in the sides are there for the proper tool. In the days before I bought the tool, I used to use a pair of pointed pliers. Turn it clockwise and leave the cut outs horizontal across the caliper.

          Have turned it a little, but very tight..
          Is there something keeping pressure on it

            They are sometimes hard to turn even with the proper tool.

                  If you haven't taken the brake lines off the calipers (you have need to), you woill have no need to bleed the brakes.
