Sensors to create parking-fine windfall | Melbourne city council

I'm guessing once other councils latch onto this we'll be seeing many more of these Australia-wide. It's a pity technology is always used to gouge motorists.

I have no doubt they'll beg, borrow or steal money to pay to get these sensors. Hang on that's what they call council rates.

Technology hey! We're in the future.

They can also use the sensors to zero the remaining time for a parking spot when it detects that the spot has been vacated.

The basic technology for all this was developed in Sth Africa a few years ago
