Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hahah, i was just about to post this!

I just returned from Japan and i can say in all honesty the variety of cars over there is astounding.
AWD Honda Jazz's, Subaru's the size of a smart four2 (AWD of course), Nissan cube's every 3 cars and so many Brabus G wagon's i lost count.
It is an awesome experience, quite a cultural change but everyone is mostly friendly/helpful.

Can't wait to get home and watch this one.

        Food is awesome over there.
You can get dinner for 2 people for about $12-14 total

Western food is pricey as though.
A large pizza was $33, A Rockmelon was $50 and Watermelon was $25.
        The steaks were $125/kg haha.
        Even mince was $25/kg.

I was over there in November and absolutely loved it.
The amount of Lorinser S Class Merc's though was astounding!
Saw a bunch of young Japanese guys in a slammed Impala, gold trimmings all over it, there was a decent american/muscle car scene over there, oh, and of course all of the Kei cars.
I also saw a tiny little Japanese lady driving the latest GTR, covered in various love hearts and smily face decals (>.<)
The sooner those late model Toyota Crowns arrive as imports the better. There was so many black on black examples that made the 300C's look meagre in comparison.

                    Must get back there soon...

That was a great story, chalk another one up for the mighty mods guys.

In all seriousness the producers of Top Gear Oz could do a lot worse than watch these guys in action to see what makes good TV for car nuts. They're funny and genuine - best car trip video I've seen since Top Gear Vietnam.
