I remember back when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, there was always a cyclone off Queensland somewhere during the summer. Helping my grandfather hammer in the cyclone pegs on the caravan while we were holidaying up on the Sunshine coast and every evening there'd be a big electrical storm.

For about the last fifteen years the weather has been pretty low key really with only the odd Cyclone like Larry hammer the far north with not a lot coming south-east Queensland way. Looks like it's heading back that way now.

i was waiting for a thread like this to appear i thought someone would have started it earlier.
Anyway, if 2012 end of the world is gonna happen, i dont think there is much that we can do. So if it happens we are all f****d, and if it doesnt good for us. I thought that something similar was supposed to happen on 9/9/99??

The world doesn't end in 2012, I think the Mayan calendar runs out of digits that year. Doubtless it will start again at 1 (or whatever the Mayan symbol is for year 1) and all the doomsayers will sheepishly head for the hills.
