My trails dozed...

Iv spent 4 years of solid digging/riding/building and general being a teenager at my trails. This afternoon they were dozed flat.

These werent illegal or secret but the local "council" jumps.

FML They mite seem like juts a pile of dirt to most but that was one the best places ever...

Probably gone in an 1hours work.

its a shame dude.... ahh well.... just go walking the streets breaking into cars instead...... isnt that why they dozed your trails in the first place?

I find it funny, a place that is full of at least 20 kids aged 10 to 16 most afternoons and then on weekend little kids, parents and "riders" get demolished with what warning?

What are we all ment to build our own in teh front yard.

No wounder kids take up drugs, crime etc...

Ring your local paper and give the council a serve. At very least they'll thiink twice about doing thisin the future... best case scenario would be a council-funded skate park!!

Man that sucks.
Its hard enough to find place that are not illegal but then they get dozed. They wonder why people make illegal tracks/jumps or use whats on the streets.
As suggested contact the paper and find out from the council why they did it.

Well after a few phone calls today I got swat.

All I could find out was that the council has had it on the priority list for a while and not much happening.

So here is my plan of action:

- Contact both local papers
- Get every single local kid, parent, rider etc to email council
- Contact my local member with a very stern email
- Use work (Bike shop) as my back up.

Maroondah council watch out.

Yeah that's messed up. ****in' stupid, and you got it right about it keeping kids off the bad stuff. You mentioned this over the weekend but didn't know the impact it makes until I saw this thread. I'm surprised now that you were able to hide much of your emotions over the weekend; I know that if I was in your position, I would've been too depressed to do much else. Good man, but give the council the serving they need.

They did this in Canberra/Queanbeyan to so now the only place to really go is Stromlo or Mt. Majura and if your a kid riding there from Queanbeyan thats a 30km ride.

Plus a couple years back when I had a heap of jumps inside my property they came and dozed them because they disrupted the "nature look" to the bush land...

Thats horse shiz on the planet of this sux camels ducks.

What i suggest is go around burning down the milk bar, stealing bikes, harassing people and it wouldn't hurt to steel, burn and dump a gemini behind the local primary school weekly. That's what happened in Coolaroo and we got a skate park and a big dirt track built at the same time. But i mean this was a ghetto, like the wrong side of the tracks of Broadmedows, shoes on the power lines and shiz.

Its bullshiz dude i hope you get it sorted.

We will be gathering facts like; well tell them
to re propose somethijng
its a dirt park
not a $10 000 skatepark
the country is turning obese
they widen freeways no worries
cater for fat people
how about get people fit
look att he demand for gyms
the health system will be ****ed and they look like they dont give a ****
when was the last time the council spent money on gettiing people physically active

and:

and statistics
look into journals
look into how much funds the councel get each year and where they spend it
tear quotes out of mission statements
