I bought them for his birthday, got em off ebay.

Nice and cheap and good quality. Not sure if it had a VIC logo or anything on it though..

Any decent sign writer should be able to help you out with something like this - I have a replica UK numberplate ('UNCOOL' for those who follow Top Gear) which I had made by the same company who does all my sign writing and vinyl wrapping. It's identical in construction to the plastic plates issued by the ACT RTA, and didn't cost all that much to make as they used offcuts for the plastic base and lettering.

The one I got was properly raised/stamped like a real plate.
(which is what real plates are like in VIC )

I've got a link at site at home that you can get most types of Euro plates from as well as Japanese plates. I'll post it when I finish work.

                          I got mine from germanplates.com

I only really wanted the euro backplate/holder, turned out no-one in Aus had them at the time, these guys did me plates and the holders for $70 shipped... Still got them on the car ATM... They have a D with a DDR star in the blue bit at the left side... But you can select from quite a range, none Aus spec though... but fun all the same... I even printed up some stickers, wolfsburg shield and tax disc to stick on them...
                          Too many dubs to mention....
