Adaptive Cruise Control

I've ticked most of the boxes for my CC TDI quote ... but not this one. I figured I wouldn't use it as I don't do a lot of highway work and generally tend not to use cruise unless the road is totally clear.

But I'm now wondering ... sounds like a great toy !! What's the thoughts of those that have got it. Also ... without bugging my dealer again, what's the cost of this option ?

I doubt you would really use it if you don't normally use cruise control.

My father has it on his CC V6, and he loves it. He commutes daily in Sydney traffic, and most appreciates that it brakes the car when following vehicles in front, or when descending hills - great for tollroads and other busy traffic roads.

I personally don't like it - I find that while it's pretty slick, it's not as smooth as a good driver and know it can't be trusted under all conditions. Having said that I live in Adelaide and rarely contend with badly choked roads; my regular cruise control suits me just fine.
