Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • My car video. What you think?

Hey guys I was out at Wakefield Park just a few days ago. I didnt take the Polo out for laps as I was just the cameraman that day.

Anyway I put together a video from the days footage. Its kind of starting to be a hobby of mine. So far its the hardest video I had to edit, due to the constant flowing action. Check it out and let me know what you think. Its the best I could do with the limited equipment and experience.

There were a couple of Golf GTI's there on the day, which you will see in the video. Anyone from here?

Nice clear video, looks really good.

Few points: The Initial panning and movement around the car is a bit shakey, looks like you need a stand/tripod/monopod or that software that takes out the shakes (see GoPro).
I like the switch from in car to outside view when the car is on the track, again a smoother panning shot would've perfected it.
Maybe a soundtrack in the background that got louder and softer at different times, this will come with more practice though I guess.
At the end, a shot of the car parking or something similar to finish it off.

In terms of showing off the car though, it does a great job, I'm sure the owner of the Evo would appreciate the vid very much.

      Thanks for the review.

I have agree with you on those points. I actually did use a tripod for the outside view when panning but the tripod is not made for panning, its one of those you just fix in a position. I guess it kinds shows.

I had to think about how to end the video as the session went on for around 15 minutes and I wanted to keep the video shorter. Ill have to work on that next time.

      Cheers.

He didnt pass every car but then none passed him either. Though he did get past this Dodge Viper on the straight quite easy.
