Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I'm on the fence about it. The one on 15" SSR MK2's is a winner, otherwise they're pretty dumb.

                      • very very occasionally, i inspire myself.

i left sydney at 4pm yesterday, drove back to melb and managed to make it to the bottle-o 5 mins before it closes at midnight.

p.s. no driver change either (just me and the dog)

p.p.s. the thing.... what everyone has... disclaim... OH YEAH.... this was all on my friend's private test track.

                                Maybe.. I've renewed my license.

I Built a J (national) and an S (Clubman) last week. Ran the S in yesterday and did 1 flatout session, close to the pace and consistent.. In a kart i slapped together, 2nd hand tyres with a setup I plucked out of my arse. Haha. This morning I ripped the MG tyres off, threw on some Dunlop SL1s that are about 5 years old, bolted the J on and went out.. Ran it in and did a heap of laps.. Kart wasn't too bad considering the seat is too far back, too low and it's a 32mm CIK chassis. hahaha.

At this stage I just want to get some laps in. Get my eye back in and get race fit (i'm way fitter than I was last time I raced and i'm rooted now).. We'll see what happens.
