I have a diesel Punto, and almost bought a 124CC for my 2nd car, but bought an E28 528i instead.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I've got a soft spot for the 131 Arbaths. No SFA about them, except they were pretty good rally cars & can also remember playing around with one of dads model cars which looked identical to this
yeah, the 125 was a great car. Sort of like a limo back then. Very nice car.
The 131 abarth is a very special car! worth heaaps of money these days. To give you a idea how much the engine costs, for 2 cam boxs (bare) without head, $15,000.

Remember Ferrari had been using webers in the early 50's! 6 of them on a V12!
My favorite. 250GTO. One had recently been sold for a alleged 28.5Mil!
How about direct injection in 1952 & a top speed of 260km/h!!!

I already know what engine I'd build for $15K & it would have more power than any VW ever built on pump fuel too! (maybe not the veyron though! haha) That would have to run on alcohol! Nothing wrong with that!
Just for you though Gordon, cause I don't mind them either!

Jeez! $15K for a fiat engine. Don't doubt it, but christ! You really have to love Fiats to spend that on a 16V 4cyl to make a standard 140hp!

$15,000 just cylinder head (sorry)
I wouldn't be surprised if the engine was close to 30-40k. I'm talking about the Abarth 16v, not the 8v 2L supercharger one.
that 131 looks insane.
anyone heard of Guy Croft?
thats what im talking about!!!Last edited by 16v_kid; 02-12-2009, 09:53 PM.Audi S3 8L - Stroker GTX3582 700bhp+

That would really have to float your boat!
The engine I was talking about "was" the Abarth 2L 16V from the series 1. it made a whopping 140hp! Check it out!
If your talking that kind of money for an engine, I could build a complete car that would rape a veyron in a straight line & still be streetable! haha
