  • Insurance/Rego costs. MK V GTi vs MK IV R32

    Hey all,

Just wondering if someone could enlighten me on rego/insurance costs on a MK V GTi? Reason i'm asking is I currently own a MK4 R32, but am contemplating up/down? grading next year to a MKV GTi and was wondering what costs would be? I'd imagine it'd be lower than the .:R but just want it for food for thought...

Also, what insurer you use etc.

    Regards,
    Drew.

Insurance was FAR more expensive when i got a qoute for GTI compared to the R32. I am shocked at how little i pay through AAMI for my R32. I think its around $850. You could double it for the GTI. 28 yr old male.

The quote from AAMI for my GTI is $1250/year. NRMA quoted $2100. Many other insurance companies refuse online quotes due to it being omg turbocharged and me being a 24yo male.

Haha wow; I'm 19 and pay $1400 or so for my MK4 R32, i thought for sure it'd be less being more underpowered than the .:R, odd. Might have to phone around a bit; will probably grow out of the GTi idea anyway and keep the .:R ha.
