What are you using and really liking?

I'm addicted to a simple little game called "Consequence" - almost tetris like in its simplicity.

Hmm, it didn't work for me that well. What really helps is to switch off the phone for night or at least turn on Aeroplane mode. Turning off for night recovers RAM, it helped to my daughter with phone freezing, since she never turned phone off - (we all 4 upgraded to HTC Desire phone at almost the same time).

I bought from Telstra shop, so it has Telstra what ever limitation they program onto the phone. I bought my phone outright ($780), what a rip of, wife and kids have phone on plan and they're Telstra preprogrammed phones. Later on when I wanted to use Vodafone SIM in the phone I went to Vodafone for settings to use data, they set it is Telstra phone and they were not really helpful, so went to Telstra and they said it was Vodafone SIM and no help from them either (we have 7 Telstra services in our household - not enough for Telstra to move the finger and help), called Vodafone customer service in Indian and Indian lady guided me through the manual setting in the phone and everything works. I never liked when calling to Telco company and call goes to another country, but this time I was happy with their service despite long time on hold.

So, we get upgrade when Telstra release one.
Lesson for me is never buy the phone outright from the Telstra or other phone company.

I'm happy with the Desire, originally bought Nokia N900 from Harvey Norman, great phone, but slower to use, no Tapatalk and Google calendar that I use a lot. I use N900 as PDA.

                Sorry for rant.

thats the problem buying a phone from a company like that, there locked so you cant use another service provider
like you said there are ways around it but its much easier if you buy the phone unlocked
i bought mine for 580 shipped to my door from america unlocked
you shouldnt have to wait for telstra to release software thats already available on the internet
i just have to work out how to download and install it, il get back to you on that

Trackmaster would have to be my favourite

                    Trackmaster - Welcome

I've got a Telstra branded desire and I'm hanging out for official Froyo in the hope it fixes the bluetooth SPP profile. Then I can run my 5hz GPS with Trackmaster.

Not quite ready to root it yet.

Try: press menu, select settings, select About phone, select system software updates.

Don't get me wrong, I can't fault Telstra 3G network or phone. The problem arises only when you use different phone company. Originally wife was on prepaid and after we recharged with $60 credit that should last up to 9 months, credit was gone within a month. After questioning it Telstra told us we repliedto wrong offer. You see they send you an offer and aren't clever enough to see that you have selected different things on your prepaid. So I got fed up with them and used Vodafone SIM, that is on $49 months plan and hardly get used.(I had a problem with Telstra broadband 2x in past 2 months, so I didn't want to take another plan from them)

To be fair, the phone is faster on Telstra network, but Vodafone has coverage where Telstra has no signal.

                            Can't recommend Thick buttons enough.

Also Lock enabler, unless you guys know a better screen locker! PITA!

Friend Stream is nice, all the networking feeds in one place

Spareparts is great for tweaking things.

Barcode scanner and Shop savvy is cool for barcode scanning and price checking.

Liquid face light is a bit of fun.

And I'd have to admit I'm a Robodefence player despite being over 40! Mad missile defence is fun too.

                            Love the Desire, way cool.
