I hate Channel 9!!

They've just aired episode 5 of season 15.

In this episode they race a Toureg, max a Veyron SS, talk to Cameron Diaz and a scientology enthusiast and do a memorial for Ayrton Senna where Louis Hamilton drives his Malboro McLaren.

Which one of these films do they cut from a car show, made for car enturiasts? Yes thats right the one where the current F1 hero drives the all time F1 heroes best car.

What chump did they put in charge of making that desicion. D*ckheads!!!

This has been happening for ages.
If you get them online you get the whole episode and you get it 3-4 weeks in advance.

Channel 9 are stupid for cutting out parts of topgear.
Sure they need advertising but you lose most of the fanbase by cutting out so much of the show.
They had the Japan special on a few weeks ago adn they cut out half the race so you just got 3 5 minute segments that were all disjointed.
If anything they should cut the star in a resonably priced car segment as they are 90% brittish tv stars that have no relevance to Australia.

You are all sort of missing the point. If you can download it, great, excellent work.

But Top Gear is an entertainment show but based around cars and they way it has been cut and manipulated by Channel 9 means it has been ruined for those who are genuinely interested in watching a show about cars. There are tonnes of shows about celebrities and their activities but only one genuine car show on normal telly. And they ruined it by cutting out this segment.

My father in law for example doesn't know how to read an email but loves cars and enjoys Top Gear, so he watches it on TV, but he has missed out because of their misguided representation of the show.

I just don't understand why they did it. It normally runs untill 9pm but for some weird reason they finished it at 8.40pm. Why not show it in full?

And despite my woeful internet contract i've just downloaded it. Ayrton Senna was my hero as a boy, so i gotta watch it.

The Senna doco part was the best piece of automotive television i have ever seen.

"Apparently" the show is not cut by the local networks but by BBC for their various international distributions.
I noticed the same thing on SBS one night where the Vauxhal "Monaro" hot lap (and a few other bits and pieces) were missing from a particular Top Gear Episode. I sent an email to SBS and they replied stating that BBC edits the show before sending it to them for various reasons e.g. a permisson to air certain songs, played in the backround, have not been given for that country, parties involved may have not given permission for something to be aired about them etc. I'll see if I have the response email somewhere and post it later.

I watched it and you are right, it was a very special film. Reminded my why he was my hero.

Now this puts me in a social dilemma. I'll get the inevitable watercooler Top Gear chat and get asked what i thought. Now do i lie through my teeth and say i enjoyed it, Cameron Diaz and Mr Scientology were great blah blah or do i say what i really think and come across as a tragic car bore with no life.

Damn you channel 9!!!
