  • Newest addition to the stable...

    What an epic day...
We now have another running 240K GL coupe! I introduce Miss Poppi!
As this one is in a lot better nick - will post for EOI on sale of the grey one at some point in the future...
She is 100% original, granny spec and auto. Getting her registered next week and having the small bits of rust repaired.
Made the 200km journey home no worries - hopefully a sign of things to come!
Sorry about the quality of the pics - we just got in.
Will take her to some more scenic spots tomorrow.
    Cheers
    Steph

I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

    Nice one Stephy.
What are your plans for Miss Poppi, keep original or mod her up?
Mk IV Golf GTI - BMP - GIAC chip, R32 wheels, KW coilovers, rear swaybar.

I'll keep her original. It's had an engine change from L24 to L26 in 1987 (that was fully engineered) but I've tracked down the original motor so i want to fix that up and put it back in.
The grey one we have has had a lot of go fast bits put in it and I i really prefer driving the original one.
Getting SI rego on it so i'm pretty limited to what mods I can do - i read the booklet...
Will post up EOI on the grey one here soonish - i don't want to advertise on the Datto forums just yet.

Please excuse my ignorance but what is SI rego?
Am guessing classic car rego/club plates but have no idea.

Yeah - Special Interest vehicle. Like Rally, Charity or over 30 years old. Club plates are a bit different, you can only go to and from a mechanics or event. SI you can take it out 52 times a year on a log book. Matt looking at club plates for the grey one, then came to his senses and decided not to rally a 240k coupe...

Looks great Steph, where do you find all these cool cars, forums, paper/trading post, or did you see the owner out on the road? There wouldn't be many of these around I'd imagine.

You mean to say there's more than one of these on that island of yours?!

Well.. I can talk... a lot... I just go to events and make friends, then they let me know of anything in the pipeline I or Matt might like comes up.
Matt and I have 3 c110 coupes now. All running which is amazing, but running out of space again fast...
