Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Cool dude. I keep forgetting you are perfect at everything.

*sigh* that's NOT what I was saying. They're the reasons for my first comment and not thinking it was the guy's job... But whatever.

I thought the credits at the begining would have given it away. Kindo insulting to the creator man.

            2. rocket is misunderstood. so much, that it crossed my mind that his account might have been hacked recently. but as long as he stays on form- he's a part of modern VWWA.

Rocket, your comments are often mistimed, misinterpreted and misunderstood. I didn't really take offense, but I did put up the funding (not cheap!!) out of my own pocket to have this shot and produced, so i'd appreciate 100% support from the community or I won't bother doing it next time. (Just a statement, not a threat!! )

Just remember that this was all shot in one day without a steady cam. All freehand or tripod.

Well, i just watched the first 14-15 odd minutes of it. I'm pretty happy with how it has all come out.

Ray, received your photos today. Haven't had a look yet, but i'm sure they're perfect.

Just waiting on credits to add to the last section (cough, DOM! cough. haha). We will also have a separate special feature which is just the presentation. Nothing too fancy. Just candid running footage.

This will be available in DVD or full HD Bluray. Bluray will obviously be at a higher cost.

Not yet, dude. But not far off. It's pretty much ready for production minus some end credits (Dom, cough. hahahaha) and the photo gallery. Steve, Rayray and Lorenz were kind enough to send me a disc. Maybe Dom, too? (Please!! )

Like I said, will keep you guys updated and as well informed as I can!

Look I didn't set out to offend anyone or be negative. I provided feedback that was meant to be constructive. If you're a professional you shouldn't be doing handheld work that creates "shakey cam" images unless that's the effect you're going for. That is all. From the trailer, the parts that were shakey didn't look like they were meant to be that way cause of an "effect". And in my experience, the transitions weren't the best and the focus shifts were too fast for what they were trying to achieve. I'm sure the final product is great, but that doesn't mean it's perfect.

Wouldn't it be boring if everyone on the forum wore rose coloured glasses all the time?

I'll so come over next time.
Looked like a great event. I liked it, I didn't see any shakes, I was concentrating on the VAG porn
I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

                              It's all good mate.

A lot of the stuff i see people do isn't "perfect" either, but i choose not to criticise them for the smaller details and instead focus on the positives. Unless they ask for specific constructive criticism, and i think that's where you keep upsetting people.

Most of the stuff I and many others on this forum do isn't perfect, and we all know it's not (I could nearly tell you off the top of my head ALL the things that when you get down to the nitty gritty, i'm not happy with on the things i've done). But nearly everyone else on the forum and elsewhere seem to think it's pretty cool. Nothing anyone will ever do is perfect.

Steadycams are also extremely pricey. Steve is a one-man show and that camera alone was up around the 10-12 thousand dollar mark when he purchased it.

It's the old story, you get what you pay for. I'd like to have a fully fitted CNC machine shop so i could turn out some REALLY cool gear. But I can't afford that now, can I?

                                SEDF was rad.

by stark contrast, however is the lack of any ''VIC'' events over in the ''events and get-togethers'' forum!
