Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Tragedy at Love Parade 2010

Pretty tragic event, interesting deision by management to let the party continue also.

18 dead after Love Parade stampede on inthemix.com.au

Listed at between 500k to 1.5million at the event. Huge!

That's really a huge tragedy Meanwhile the number of dead people is 19 and over 300 injured people. Since 1989, where this event was born it never happened something like this. The event had taken place at different citys in the past and it seems that this year the city Duisburg was not the right choice. There were definitely not enough emergency routes and why do they lead so a huge amount of people through a small tunnel??? Bloody organasition team!

Here a well done video from a youtube user, very sad YouTube - Loveparade 2010 - Massenpanik im Tunnel

This was the last Love Parade in Germany!

Festival does not automatically equal ravers. But yes, there would be truckloads of people loaded at the event...

I was at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin for New Years where there was around 1 million people and all I can say is that anywhere with that amount of people really isn't that fun (for me anyway). A festival like Big Day Out or a stadium rock concert is awesome but I reckon that an event like that is just too many people, whether it's organised properly or not.
          Cheers,

Heard about this very sad However it was just like Future music Festival this year, too overcrowded and way to packed, poor organisation turned me off from festivals for about 15mins but still.
