Angry Driver Violently Beats Old Man For Driving Too Slowly
Posted by Mike on May 6th, 2010 No Comments »

Police have arrested Brandon Poulson, a 22-year-old truck driver from Iowa, on charges that he violently beat an old man because he didn’t like the way he drove.

The 70-year-old victim was driving with his wife, and Poulson was following behind. Poulson began yelling and swearing at the man. Sensing his agitation, the man pulled over to let him pass, but instead of continuing on his way, Poulson allegedly pulled over as well, went up to the older man, and began to violently beat him for “driving like an old man.”

Poulson admitted to police that he beat the man because he was upset with the way he was driving. He is currently being held in custody on a $10,000 bond.

I will stay away from Iowa. Too risky. will be 75 at end of year.
Happy to be retired and in Southern Highlands AWAY from Sydney. Too much road rage there.
Also as no longer working, do not have to put up with being blocked in traffic by slow elderly drivers. (Bowling hat in rear window)
Especially as now I are one too, but with Croquet hat in rear window.

I wouldnt say "only in america"
There is some serious road rage starting to happen here these days. Everyone is so impatient and not only just on the roads I guess.

Whilst no-one should be beaten for their actions. I dont think anyone should be on the roads if they cant keep up with traffic. At 75 maybe its time for grandpa to hang up his keys for good.

Oh dear. You mean I should cancel my order for a beut Golf and order a zimmer walking frame?
My comment re hat in rear rear window was tongue in cheek.

Seriously, now I do not have to rush from site to site as service engineer attending breakdowns, its nice to just keep to the speed limit, instead of cribbing an extra 10KPH over!
(Of course, in Sydney, rather than driving aggressively, I now relax and just keep with the flow.)

And of course, Toyota speedo is accurate, so I drive at REAL 110KPH, passing all these european cars who THINK they are driving at the speed limit. It seems THEY are the ones who can't keep up with the traffic.

By the way, I normally win traffic light derby, simply by being alert and moving off smartly, NOT
by speeding. (Oh yes, I do have to have RTA eye test etc, pass no problem)

Interesting your comments on the speedo.

You're right, my speedo reads about 5 km/h low at 100km/h. I thought it was just my car..... I now drive by what my GPS is telling me.

Funny but I do find if I have a cruisy day and potter along at the limit I cop a lot of tailgating and rage, even in the left hand lane! Seems you have to push it 10kph or more over most of the time to keep up with the flow, and even now at "only" 40 I am beginning to find all the rush just so unecessary...and I see that as a positive sign personally!

Grandpa indeed! so what! with a bit of luck it happens to all of us. But it DOES make us more considerate of those drivers who prefer to drive a little more safely by keeping to a comfortable speed
Actually, I still have to remind myself at times, what's the hurry, and slow back to the speed limit.
But hard to exceed limit in this area, full of double lines, as so MANY TOURISTS cruising around!
