Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Its not all bad news mate,
No real plans, its a winery area but that sounds like too much work, I dont plan on moving my business (automotive) out there, I couldnt stand people "popping" out there on the weekends to have things done. No, my ex planted over 300 trees up there and the wallabies havent eaten them so maybe I could set up an autocross track around them?? LOL! No, its nice and quiet out there so I guess it will be nice to just sit on the land and watch it appreciate.
    Cheers, Andrew

I could produce a book on the ever changing views from my unit, I have soooo many pics! In those you cant see the river or the bridge. Unfortunately photoshop has deleted my old files so I cant post em up at present.
Yes, my friends from here are always welcome down here, be good to see some fellow enthusiasts.
I havent submitted plans yet, I still have to settle some stuff here, then prepare the area where I want my house built.
By the way Waterboy, Baskerville is over the hill from the block and I can here the racing or supersprint days when they are on

Good luck Andrew, Grasstree Hill would be nice to drive through each day! Will head over to your workshop fairly soon to have a chat about some things to do with my car, am fairly tight with money at the moment but as soon as that is sorted I'll give you a call. All the best - that shed looks great!

              1. Let me make a low ball offer on Gunter!

              2. Would it be warmer to have the caravan in the shed?

Mate, right behind you making the most of this tree change!

                Thanks Hennie and Micheal,
I wont take any offers on Gunter, I have been thinking for a while now about getting the you beaut suspension ect out of him and sending him to the crusher, but no, I may resurrect him as a road car or something sometime down the track. Darn sight quieter there than Sydney eh Micheal?? LOL
The van stays outside, been warmish here lately, 13.5 yesterday morning at 6.45 am!! Crazy stuff. It will get cold again but clothes and heaters are assigned for making things warmer. And the living area that I will build inside the shed should be more than comfy. Camp showers are not a prospect I am looking forward to.
Must find myself a nice chick with a good shower!!! PLUS!!!

Good stuff mate, what you're doing is the stuff I dream about some day. If there were jobs that the GF and I could do down there then I'd seriously love to move down there, it's my favourite place in Oz. My parents have done something similar to you - they bought a block of land about 4.5 hours south-west of the Gold Coast
and stayed in a shed for a little while before building their own cottage. They love it.

I'd like to come down and do a road trip - when I do I'll give you a shout.

You'll have fun doing this - don't knock living in a 1br unit in a shed (or a caravan next to a bigarse shed) until you try it, got my "Evict or Extend" notice yesterday in the mail... We're extending the temporary residence permit
Will build eventually...But in absolutely no hurry.
We can fit 5 cars comfortably in the garage space - 6 have been in here before but it was a bit of a drama walking around them.
Andrew - it looks like a beautiful spot you have there All the best! (PS - Matt and I would love to come visit and see the stable )
I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...
