Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

If they veyron was never about top speed then why bother making a SS version of it that pips the Ultima Aero???

Sure it is an engineering feat but it's ugly and the engine was already used in the older EB110 bugatti so it isn't anything "new"

The Veyron was about creating a car with 1000hp.

And the Dagger Gt is planned to have 2000HP and will be able to be driven on the road as a legal road car.

          I prefer this one.

Saw it in the flesh last week at VW in wolfsburg and it was awesome.

The Dagger GT is just a pie in the sky drawing FFS...

Why is it even being compared, let alone spoken about as though superior, to the Veyron??
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting

              WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! DAMN IT!!!

I dont think that Bugatti and VW gives a flying fkuc about the Aero.
Look at it this way, the Aero is a V8 twin turbo, like you cant build a 1200hp v8 tt in a shed, that has a body riped off from several different super cars, recaro seats and a kenwood dvd double din. Ive seen similar things in Supras.

Top speed was only one of objective when building the Veyron as was the power.
The engine in the Veyron has nothing to do with the V12 TT in the EB110 and had nothing to do with VW!
The prototype Veyron actualy had a W18, then had turbos, then was downsized to W16 and is based loosly on VWs W8.

The Veyron was much like the Phaton, there where a list of rediculous rules set out by the head of VW at the time and the car wasnt finished untill they where met. One of which was it has to be able to do 400. It also needed to be able of doing it daily, not like a race car or other super cars but driven every day at 980+hp, thats why it has a so many cylinders, so many turbos and so much more of everything.

It was built to show what could be done. They made the SS for the same reason they made the Veyron in the first place, to show that it could be done.

You realy have no idea about the Veryon do you? Or even what goes in to building a car like that, something that can reach 400, stay on the ground, and do it over and over again while sitting in an air conditioned leather cabin with the music playing.
