So is there a show, or does everyone just drive around? Are there awards and stuff, I can see that being tought to judge.
WELL!.............
you have a lake spanning 50klm east to west, the show is half way between those 2 points. people drive down 2 weeks before the show, meet, drive, cruise, meet, talk, drive, meet, cruise, drive, eat food, drink, meet, drive and finally cruise around the whole late, for like.... 20 hr's of the 24hr day for 2 weeks!
no awards are given and 75% of the cars leave before or ON the day of the official show as you would have all the roads closed off and FULL with drunk Europeans all over the roads, holding cars back to do burnouts, yelling and so on...
plan is to get in 1 week before the show officially opens and just soak it ALL IN! but the show is kinda worth staying for, if you like autosalon style euro's
and lol sorry alex but im warning you now, if you do decide to check out wothersee... DONT! because your car will NEVER! get finished!!!!! soo many new ideas will pop up your car will take another direction with everything! because ya know.... Worthersee IS the breeding ground for anything thats tuning VW's
some language 101 for everyone, gti treffen is not pronounced "gee-tee-eye" the euro's say "gitti-ee" i learned the hard way when i told ALOT of people im here for "gee-tee-eye" treffen they gave me that "ok...well...... good for you..." look
also "gummi gummi" means wheelspin/burnout, its kinda funny to say, but after a few two many beers and sitting on the side of the road for 5 hours you start to stop cars and yell at the drivers window "GUMMI GUMMI!!!!!" 99% of the time it pays off especially when you see some audi rs2 with 500hp light up all 4 tyres down the street!!!
you are killen me bro, so much win its not funny, legendary effort bro, must have been a trucken blast.
the mind must be racing
they had the old firespark red mk6 from last year, an Adidas promo golf, a new worthersee scirocco and something elce i didnt pay attention to.... none of them impressed me and were all cosmetic changes....
Lets be safe and say .. Dom's german sucked full stop LOL .. i was an online translator for him everywhere most the time hahaha.. (he wasnt that bad.. sorta hehe)
I have more pics, ill get around to uploading them.
Pretty insane amount of vw / audi's and some really ugly farkers as well like every car show! Awesome show though.. although my highlight was more Nurburgring and the Ring Taxi for my liking but nevre the less the worthersee 2010 was an experience that id be going back for again!
We (the other 4) stayed in Munich as Dom wanted to be there for a few days in total (4?) and did a bit more Austria (SudTirol) and Germany (Bavaria) Alps pre-going there.
once i get through the hundreds of photos ill put the rest up as well! Although Dom seems to cover almost the best and a lot of cars that i nevre got to see as well!
OHHH EMMM GEEE!!!!! I'm completely jealous dude! just killed my eyes looking at all the pics.
I gotta say it looks like an extremely good environment to be in, the surroundings, the people and their friendliness and just the sake of it all. To think people come together like that and have so much fun is extraordinary! I'm glad to hear how friendly the people were, and gotta say thanks alot for sharingt his experience with us all.
Even though some of the cars wernt exaclty the best cars, they all looked great. Some of the wierdest and best cars are among these pics. Just amazing to what a friendly and passionate exnvironment everyone creates. This is definately on my bucket list haha. I have also noticed alot of the names of shops etc are in english which i find kinda strange. Also if you dont mind me asking, roughly, what is the price vacation/trip as i'd love to one day go myself!!!!!
