Socceroos with a miracle to come second in Grp D behind Germany. Socceroos to lose to England and then I will follow Germany through the rest of the tournament.
Anyone going into the Sydney FanFest site for matches ?? Might go in for a couple, the majority I'll see at the REH who will be screening the games for the Sydney FC fans.
Mate you guys have got no chance after loosing to New Zealand!
I think Australia has got a fighting chance, if Australia does well against Germany, I think they will get passed the 16 group stage. England has got no chance and is a country of the passed. There time has long gone I reckon.
However going by the game the other night Australia has a long way to go and I wouldn't consider that a win!
It's true the Kiwis do look better than their odds would suggest they are, after being unlucky to lose against Australia then beating Serbia. I hope The Socceroos can progress to the next stage, but Verbeek's tactics of one striker leave them vulnerable to achieve a result if their opponents score multiple goals. At least we should do better than The Poms whose squad looks light on for talent. Maybe they need to look to the Little Britain guys (as featured in this ad) for inspiration?
Socceroos don't have any decent strikers and will be extremely lucky to make it out of their group!
Man I'm pumped and cannot wait. Comment above is true but we need to focus and capitalize on the strengths we do have. No we don't have the fancy striker "Messi" types but we have solid back line and mid field. Australia has always been able to capitalize on a good opportunity in a hard situation. Heard a nice stat watching Aus Vs Den the other night. No international loss under Pim since September 2009. So fingers crossed. I wish all the team great success.
i wouldn't rely on friendly match results too much especially just before the world cup, it's more likely a stronger team will go easy to avoid injuries, try new tactics/players etc whereas the underdog will try harder to prove and establish themselves
I hear the official ball provided by Adidas is actually a beach ball....
It should go nicely then with the amount of sandy fields they have to play on!! Poor buggers. There pro's i'm sure they will cope. Fingers crossed anyway.
