Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • What cars would you buy if you won 20m on Lotto???

You see I always thought that buying a supercar would be cool and easy.
Rock up to the dealership with a bag full of cash and say I take two of those thanks.

But no! After looking around I became very dissatisfied with what is on offer.

I've never wanted a Ferrari or Porsche so the R8 has been the one supercar of choice to me.
Then I'd buy a Phaeton or a S8 for my old man.
My wife's been a fan of the DB9 Aston but after looking at these cars closley, I'd seriously want something completely different from all of them.
It seems that money has no correlation to taste.

Who in their right mind oreders a DB9 with all maroon interior! Made me think of a Toyota Cressida. Yuck!

An R8 with the 5.2 will set you back 400k, yet the instument cluster looks like it was stolen from a Mazda and just looks wrong and fugly to me, yet looks good in the Mazda. That R8 gear knob would make me cringe everytime I touched or even looked at it.

So I'd settle for an Audi S8, 97-00 Lotus Elise and a Mk4 R32 turboed and off its guts!
I'd still keep my current toys and build a house with a 6 to 8 car garage with spray booth and hoist to keep me occupied.

How bout you guys? (and girls)

      Audi A5 TDI sportsback.

Anything more is just too "look at me" for me personally.

        McLaren MP4-12C
        BMW M3 sedan (I'd go for an M5 but I want a manual gearbox - yes, I know the 12C isn't a manual)
and keep the GTI as an everyday/city car

I'm a die hard porsche man. So needless to say, I'd have more than a few in my collection.

If it had to be a 'supercar' I couldn't go past a lambo for thier sheer lunacy and beautiful sounds!

but seriously. First thing I would be doing would be building a very big shed! and then I'd hit ebay and carsales - hard!

Screw the cars... I'd build my own racetrack to race my own car on and then rent it out for others to enjoy as well. Think ASCARI Race Resort

I'd buy a late model RS4 and a BMW M3 and buy two superchargers.

(I have to save some cash for the snow chalet in Canada)

A DB9 with all maroon interior! (haha. i jest).
While thinking about which dream supercar I would want (maybe a koenigsegg ccx or bugatti veyron), I would get another jetta and mod it without worrying about dollars and cents, with top of the line everything! haha

a couple of dailys and the rest would be on not cars..

Actually, I'd also buy a current model 911 with a couple of turbos strapped to its back

That guy actually died along with the car. I'd personally get an
Audi R8 convertible in brown, and a Masterati Quattoporte for daily duties.

                            I'd like a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO but unfortunately $20 million probably isn't enough! :O

MkIV R32 worked to the hilt, still NA though for awesome. 997 911 Carrera S for daily. Ferrari 458 for pose and fun. RS6 or Rage Rover Vogue Autobiography for the family runabout (not sure if I'd like bullet wagon or go anywhere lounge room). Any more cars is a bit silly and plus you need to invest the rest to keep your garage properly maintained.

                            Cheers,

                              I'd buy a couple of cars;

                              1. Trabant

                              2. Gogomobile
