  • Car written off-Looking at replacement options.

Today nine weeks after we had a severe hailstorm here in Perth I was told they are going to write off one of my cars.
It was an 06 HSV VXR Astra.
    My options are
1.Take the cheque when it arrives and buy a Kia and pocket the remainder.
    2. Replace it with another HSV VXR Astra ( I have another VXR Astra also-His and Hers ! )
    3. Audi A3 Sportback located through a freiend with the following options.

07 A3 Audi Sportback 2.0Turbo with DSG gearbox

    54,000kms

    Logbooks

    Still under Warranty

APR Stage 1 computer retune (188kW /350Nm Torque)

    18” RS4 style Wheels

    OSIR Bodykit

    Lowered suspension (only 25mm)

    Rear Swaybar

    S3 Grille

    Tinted Windows

    Optional Centre Armrest

Price for an 08 VXR and the Audi are about the same, so it is not a money issue and either way I have to kick extra over the payout.
Bear in mind the car will be a daily driver for her,I am thniking the Audi might be a refeshing change from the VXR.

    Any advice/opinions ?

    Cheers.

        Hmmmmm. Kia Astra or Audi.
        Go the Audi!

asking a VAG forum whether to choose a holden or an audi is only ever going to get one answer.

suggest you try and put the two options back to back and compare drive, looks, performance, build-quality, ownership costs etc

Go the Audi without a doubt.
My best mates brother bought the same car in '07 and he loved it so much he said he would never get anything but Audi for the rest of his life.
He now has an S5. It's awesome

I love VXRs! But Audi's are pretty cool too. Since you already have a VXR, get the Audi, something different.

I'm still shaking my head wondering why you would ask the question..

Maybe to see the quality of response I would get !
I was hoping to get some honest feedback from A3 owners about there experiences.
