Even a Coopers will leave a 'rona on its backside in my books. Not that I'd turn a cold one down on a hot day... they're just not the Rolls-Royce of beer people make them out to be (not suggesting your doing this here), I'm finally getting a taste for dark beers (Macks Black/Monteiths/a gud ol poynt of Gunnuss lad), makes the rest taste a bit... light.Don't get me wrong, I'll drink a Corona on a hot summer's day (I usually wouldn't buy it myself, though) but there are a stack of beers that I'd take over a Corona. At the moment I'm into the Schofferhofers and my ol' faithful: Coopers Pale Ale or Becks.

If anyone wants a unique beer or cider in Melbourne, try Chapel Street Cellars in Windsor (not far from Dandenong Road). They get in a lot of unique stuff and are a very friendly bunch, plus they're very reasonably priced i.e. Schofferhofer (I don't work for them!!) are about $5 for a 500ml bottle - try finding that cheaper in a pub/bar/restaurant. I usually try something different each time.
A favourite dark beer of mine is Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Mmm it's like eating a cake for dessert!2000 Mk IV GTI

There is at the moment a Belgian Trappist Ale bubbling away in my brewery under the stairs.
One week in the vat, followed by maybe a month in the bottle, and I'll let you know what it's like.
They are, in general quite high alcohol beers, so I will have to be moderate.
