The very first car that I named was a Volkswagen Beetle. I would have been 2 to 3 years of age. I called it a "Kerraclock". To this day, I don't know why, or why I recall this bit of trivia.

There once was a band called the Phlorescent Leech and Eddie. They then became Flo and Eddie, then The Turtles. They released a song whose chorus started "Eleanor gee I think you're swell, and you really do me well, you're my pride and joy, etcetera"
That's why we had a 1968 Valiant called Eleanor
We had a Corolla with a number plate that started VAG (I forget the numbers). I called it Ina, but i got in trouble.
Later, we had a 1986 Honda Accord. The pop up headlights led to it being called Agro, after the well known talking bathmat.
I drove this to a shopping centre. I was observed getting out of it by 2 young children. One said "Shaggy!" her mother said "That's not shaggy, dear". I got the plate SH 44 GY and the van is now Shaggy.
My Peugeot, being a frog, has the numberplate NED 33P nedeep nedeep nedeep...
We used to have an Escort called Eddie.
A Pulsar called Abby (ABY**X)
My old Golf was the Cutie (AQD**X)
The Jetta is Madam Jetta.
I want to call the MK3 Mark but there is disagreement in the family. My husband thinks it's female.
And I have never had any desire to name any of the company cars I've ever driven.
