  • Fog vs Demister

    Hi all,

my a/c compressor finally shat itself and I don't intend on forking out the money to repair until the end of winter. That being said i'll be constantly competing with a foggy windscreen, I haven't done much research but before I do; does anyone have any recommendations to reduce fog in the windscreen?

    Thanks!

Run the heater, direct the hot air onto the windscreen. Fog only forms on the inside of windows when they're cold (the moisture in the air condenses on the cold surface).
    Nothing to see here...

Make the inside of your car hotter.

Use your imagination on methods how

Just FYI, cool (not cold) air on the inside of a windscreen during winter will keep it fog free FAR BETTER than hot air in winter. Keeping the inside glass temperature as close to the outside as possible is how to avoid fog.

That said, setting heat to come out at the feet and cool to come out on the font demister is the best setting.

I believe there is something being researched for this at the Proton collider in Geneva...
