looks in surprisingly good shape from that angle, suppose the other side must be a lot worse...

Dang that area has claimed a few VW's...

I was woundering why there was not mention of Dean's car in the stage results.

Must have binned it in practice...

Hope Dean and Brett and all ok.

As much as there's no "rule" against it, always nice to ask permission, particularly where an off is concerned...
                  Nothing to see here...

man, i was there on monday too- first thing in the morning, and dean didnt mention it nor did he seem like there was a bee in his bonnet.

brett was over in the workshop and i didnt have clue that anything was awry.

those guys are straight up business.

Just to clarify some of the info.

It was the second last run of the weekend on Sunday in a 4 / 5th gear corner, lost the back of the car in a long spin and at the end of the spin the back of the car caught the bank and it went very slowly over, when they rolled it back on the wheels they drove it back down, damage is to the roof skin and A pillars easily fixed.

There were a lot of small offs all weekend by various cars and the road was incredibly slippery (Dean's words backed up by others I spoke to who competed), Marti and I didn't enter the R as it is just ready for Targa Tas in a few weeks after our off at Targa Wrest Point in January (thankfully from all reports of the grip). Nothing said by Dean as he would rather concentrate on getting it fixed and join the rest of us in the team at Targa in four weeks time.

                        Cheers Al

I read a comparison of crash test data in an overseas car mag that the Golf has the strongest roof /pillar assembly amongst a range of the biggest selling hatch's and small suv's.
