Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey guys. We took some shots today of the Dragster for the graphic designer who is doing a Tshirt design for us.. So i figured i'd throw them up for the hell of it.

Coincidentally, we were getting Banshee ready for next weekend. Saturday day/night is the Nostalgia Drags. There will be another couple of Fuel cars there to cackle and Normie Longfield will be on hand to make some passes in his WW2 Nostalgia Top Fuel car.

Come along, say hello, jump in the seat and get some pics.. Check out the layed back atmosphere, watch some drag racing and be on hand to sniff the Nitro when we fire the Cackle cars up.

man, i cannot begin to fathom the amounts of patience, perseverence, and gumption required to embark on a path like this.

amazing how lithe the frame looks.

Well, the Nostalgia Drags went off well. Big success.

We took the car out to the Burnout Pad before the finals and gave the crowd a mini cackle fest. It was dark by that time and without exaggeration the header flames were 2 feet above the headers. Steve Thomas and numerous other photographers were on hand taking pics. Steve showed me an absolute ripper shot he got. Very impressive. My camera battery went flat and I didn't get many pics unfortunately, but i'll post up what I did get.

Yes these pipes are ceramic coated. White zoomies were all the rage back in the 60's/70's. However, people used to paint them back then.

                          As promised..

                          Some shots from the pits.

Steve Turner's new AA/FD. Ex Jim Murphy. Nice bit of kit.

This is pretty cool. This car was an ORIGINAL push car that was used behind our dragster back in the day. Originally owned by Jim Kerr, now owned by his son, who races it at every nostalgia meet. Pretty cool to put it behind the car again, 35 years later. We were given a print of an original picture of Banshee being pushed down the track at Castlereigh by Jim's son (whose first name escapes me ) on saturday night.
