Weekend Away Ideas a few hours from Bris??

Hey guys

It is my birthday this weekend and i feel like getting out of town with the GF. Unfortunately i have things to do Saturday morning so i will only be able to leave Saturday arvo and will have to be back to Brisbane for work Monday.

That said does anyone have any random little gems they feel like sharing. I do not want to spend fortunes but want some place out of the ordinary with a good scenic drive there would be awesome!

Book a room at the Manor Springbrook for an awesome relaxing rainforest getaway, with unreal driving and the best fudge shop in SE Qld ( keep the girly happy ) Awesome English menu at very normal prices.

Maleny / Kenilworth would be the North coast equivalent, and there are treehouse lodges up there which sounds pretty cool. You Tarzan, girlie Jane kinda stuff.

The beack thing is OK, but not really very "special"....Byron for the win there!

I think i am going to give this Springbrook Manor a go, it is something a little different to the beach destination and it will be a fun drive up there =)
