Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Corporate Discounts? Which ones?

    Hi everyone,

Just wondering what organisations/associations/groups are part of VW's corporate discount?

    Such as CPA etc.

    Thanks

You will need to contact them as they have a database with many many different companies who are eligible.

Better not be cheaper than staff pricing. I priced up a 90TSI Golf wagon today, and the best I could get was enough to cover stamp duty, rego, etc. So essentially, I'm still paying list price, but 'driveaway'.

Yeah, haven't quite got $34K to spend

$27K will get me the 90TSI manual.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me which organisation, memberclub etc. they belong to, to get a discount.

              It will be greatly appreciated.

Yes VW has a database, but those who are trying to balance their budgets and afford an amazing golf need to know where they can save money, and I guess if it invovles joining up to a club to get a discount..then why not?

Come on guys, stuff privacy and promote disclosure..

I know Coles Myer is one of them, and basically any eductional (teacher) department will get significant gains (from what the dealer told me). Neither which i am apart of.

But be aware, do you have to show that you are a member of a club/organisation. Your better off taking your list to them, and they will check it out for you.

I ended up getting a $3500 fleet discount, and a total discount of 14%. Not really a corporate discount, but better than nothing!

I failed to mention that the saleman harped on about there being f-all margin in them. Something like $500. I'd love to buy through my work out of sheer convenience, but I'm sure there's dealers out there doing them cheaper. I might have a ring around after the missus checks out the wagon for size.

Membership of Optometrists Association Australia (OAA) gets fleet discount. Talking to OAA afterwards, they say there's no formal arrangement, but for some reason VW have taken it upon themselves to offer the discount to members.

I did have to fax proof of being a paid up member. It wasn't enough to show them my business card which has the OAA logo on it and saying that I was member.
