  • I just had a VW moment.

So for those of you who don't know I drive a polo club 1.4. Not the most powerful vw in the stable but I love it.

A coworker just threw me the keys to her r36. Amazing. Pure class.

Nothing I say will be a surprise to any r owners but I hope you appreciate how lucky you are. After driving a brand new Holden ss yesterday and then r today it's hard to describe just how much better the vw felt. It was so sure of itself on the road and encouraging you to drive it where the ss felt like a death trap, a car with plenty of brawn, but no brain.

It's amazing just how good a car vw build. From the seats to the automatic mirror adjustment when I reverse parked. Again none of this is news but my heart is racing and I'm so happy I had to share it with likeminded people.

So when I drive home in my little polo I may not arrive as quickly as I would if I was in the r, but it puts a smile on my face none the less. I guess that's why we all drive vws.

While I agree, I think you're being harsh on the Holden.

The VE range is the best from Holden EVER and represents fantastic value for money, safety and performance for the Australian market and that's exactly what they're designed to do. No the build quality isn't as good but that doesn't mean they're a death trap.

try drive a VT commodore with any enthusiam in the wet (or skidpan), now that's a death trap no one could argue with. Pretty funny when an 84 Holden Barina, 12" wheels and all can lap a skid pan marginally quicker than a (new at the time) commodore. Lacked feel at both ends of the car.

I drove an E36 M3 3.0 the other day and im in love with it. I mean no disrespect to VW R range but my car felt so dull after the M3. That is the next car for me for sure
