yeah we did, no idea why you would fork out the extra $ for one over a MK3 though...

Hmm that's good to know. Did you guys get them from new? Or have you only got imports? Are there many around or quite rare?

And where would I go to try and find parts out of one?

          Yes we did. I had a '98er.

When I bought mine, it was about $1000 more (paid ~$14k for sub 100,000km 2.0L in 2007) than a Mk3. And I thought it looked better. Possibly it had a few extra features (Blaupunkt CD & some safety things). It was worth the extra spend for the more modern face & the bulk of punters just thought it was a Mk4.

To the OP: Can't help you with parts - I sold mine because it had >$2k worth of maintenance required & the roof had stopped (all the hydraulic rams & hoses were shot).

Holy Jesus, they're everywhere here in the States.

More so on the east coast though, the west simply likes their Jettas.

They are not common here and you will never get a front for one if thats what you were asking. I have seen half a dozen go through the damaged car auctions, all hit in the front.

I was actually after the steering wheel, and possibly a few other interior parts. What are my chances of finding one?

A lady was looking at trading one in at work about 6 months ago. I expressed interest in it, but I'm guessing the vulture-like sales department scared the old dear off.
