Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Will Volkswagen Group enter F1?

I'd be keen to see it, if it happens, I'd have to barrack for 'em on principal.

    Cheers,

This'd be very cool! I've had a think about this and am thinking Skoda might make a good choice. I think the brand could do with some positive media attention as VW, AUDI, Bugatti etc all have very reputable images as is.

A Skoda badge doesn't really make you think of a great motor racing history, but think it might be suitable for the sake of VW AG.

    Thoughts?

You want to use the brand that's going to give you the biggest supporter base possible. The SMART choice from that perspective would be VW.

Audi already have the reputation from LeMans though. So it would most likely be Audi.

It could also be looked at being a tool for increasing sales of a particular brand. In which case Skoda could be a good choice.

      Hard to say really...

Regardless of the brand, it would be awesome for VW Group to be invested in F1.

could you imagine the VW clubs converging on the Australian F1?

We would totally run the place lol.

        As for Germany? A VWF1 winning....craziness.

My bet is they would run under Lambo/Audi with VW stickers on the cars like FIAT did with Ferrari
