  • URGENT abandoned Golf on Gold Coast with Tas rego.

    Hi folks,

I'm putting this up on behalf of a member on the aussieveedubbers forum as I thought it might gain wider coverage. He lives down the street from this apparently abandoned MK1 and doesn't want to see it crushed by the council. (http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/v....php?tid=81184)

Mods, please move this to a more appropriate forum if needed.

    The message is as follows:

    Hi There,
This golf (Tasmania rego) has been parked and had a couple of parking tickets attached, Does any one know who's it is?
It is in Cypress Tce. Palm Beach. Gold Coast QLD btween 6th and 7th ave. I think the City Council will be there in the next couple of days to take it away.
It also looks like it would go too, roll cage, mags and increased track width....

Fair chance the owner is not coming back.

Note that it is no longer yellow. I would suggest someone if interested should consider towing it home

Gotta be a member to see the pages. I tried to sign up but the confirmation code thingy was just a red cross

Any details on the ownership that you might be able to share??

Are the tickets for abandoning the vehicle, or for parking too close to a Pedestrian crossing and on the wrong side of the road.

The owner may not have abandoned it-being a Taswegian he may have succumbed to the Queensland heat.

Look for a large piece of Jerky on the seat or floor.

I should go and get it, need a daily driver.

Just kidding, i hate how pricks just leave unregistered or broken cars sitting on the side of the road for months.. should own up to their responsibilities and get rid of it properly.

Who knows what is going on with it. If it has been driving around on that rego it was sure to be pulled over sooner or later.

Ed Conacher in Hobart would know what is going on with it. Someone on OzEdition should ask him - Walshy?

Fair go. We don't even know the circumstances yet. Hope he hasn't met with an untimely demise.

Edit. I'd say it was sold to a QLD person and they never re-registered it.

Do yourself a favour Greg, spend the time eating Mcdonalds, it will be better for you than a MK1.

Notwithstanding I'd like to hope the owner is ok and nothing bad has happened (being from TAS is a bit odd).

However it's usually a case of: rego lapses, car is in too bad a state for a roadworthy & the owner doesn't want to spend another cent on it and probably didn't ever put oil in it, and doesn't want to pay for a tow truck to dump it.

There was an old car sitting outside of our work for months and also one at home so you get sick of seeing them and taking up parking spots.
