Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Rest In Peace Chris.

Learnt some pretty horrible news today. I got a message from another VW mate that Chris. had been killed in a car crash yesterday at Ormeau while driving a mate's Nissan 180SX.

His HAH44 Golf VR6 was a token at any Watercooled meet and I can't believe we won't be seeing it anymore.

Rest In Peace Chris. You were a good guy, and a good mate.

Not a nice thing to have happen to the family.

Approx 200km/h on a public road is just asking for trouble though.

Was a silly thing to do, but no one deserves this.

I have just over three weeks left until I turn 17 and can go for my Red P's, so this has definitely hit me hard to the dangers on the road. Granted, "stupid speeds all day" doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to fall into the same predicament as Chris did (ie. passing away) but now I really understand and appreciate the point of view that even momentarily, driving isn't safe.
