Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I like it but the tray isn't long enough to be of much commercial use really.
It's like the new Navara in regards to tray length.
Still awesome to see a proper VW Ute again
Just need an R-Line variant and a longer tray and it will be truly awesome.Last edited by team_v; 02-12-2009, 06:52 AM.

Very interesting. It does look nice. These sorts of utes are VERY popular in Southern Africa where the Hilux is king. The Nissan Navara (called the Hardbody in Africa) and Isuzu will probably the the main competition for it. Will be interested to see what the uptake in Aus is like. When do they reach our shores?
Looking at the engines, the power ratings are different to those of the Tiguan's TDI, so I'm wondering if it's a totally different engine designed specifically for the Amarok?sigpic
Tiguan TDI, 6spd Tiptronic Auto
