Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Le Mans...Anyone been??

Hey guys. I am slowly planning my trip for next year, and I was looking at various sporting events to try and get to, and the Le Mans 24HR is on when I am planning to be there.
I was wondering if anyone has been to this event, and any little tips or things you found out about it?

Not yet, but it is a major goal to.

I've followed the race live on radiolemans and now One HD (champions!) for seven or so years.

For planning tips check out this fan site:
Aysedasi's Le Mans - A Personal View of the World's Greatest Motor Race.

The best one though is the Club Arnage guide - full of handy hints and many hilarious stories by spectators, mechanics and drivers.

The Club Arnage guide really is a MUST.

Lucky bugger. My wife bought me a scale model (1:1 of the winning car for my birthday this year.

The Australian GT championship lacks prototypes but they do have Aston Martin DB9RS, Ferrari F430, Porsche GT3 RS/Cup S, Dodge Viper, Lambo Gallardo, Mosler etc etc. They put on a good show too.

Went there for the Frence MotoGP last year, was truly awesome Get the train to Le Mans and a short Taxi ride to the track.. We were staying in Paris so got the TVG (thinks thats the one) high speed train, 340km/hr and just did it as a day trip.. Plenty of places to stay there though... Cost for the Moto GP was EURO $80 for a day pass....
