Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Crossed over onto the dark side

Decided to buy one of these yesterday, found one last night, bought it this afternoon, parked infront of my house tonight

    1985 E30 318i coupe.

Still keeping my a3, this is just for station duties and maybe some fun.
25years later it still goes well, and still gets sideways

Classic beautiful shape, I've always had a soft spot for e30s, I can't believe I found one this good so quickly.

    Very nice man, looks tidy.

Make sure you head over to the ECCA, it's where all the BMW owners seem to be these days....

haha I've got to promise myself not to mod this thing too heavily, or else i'll need a 3rd car to drive to the station.

              It has factory BBS mesh!

I'll have to get some better pictures later on, with 4 VWs in the garage this will have to be parked out on the street.

When you come to fix the following items and you get stuck, ask me and I'll tell you my experience:

                  Changing springs and shocks
                  Changing Alternator
                  Changing starter
                  Changing power steering rack

That steering rack was a bitch and a half.
