Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • The rest of my pics from the CHRR (As promised..)

    Saturday morning at the motel..

    S&E AA/FD

The "Barnstormer". Original driver, TV Tommy Ivo crouched down near the cockpit.

    Rick doing his thing..

Nostalgia Funny Car in the staging lanes (THE best class hands down in my opinion).

The "Winged Express", originally driven by "Wild" Willie Borsch. Now driven by Mike Boyd

The Vagabond. Very famous car. Built by Kent Fuller (same as the Magicar).

Jim Roddermeller on the left, yours truly right. Jim drives a junior fuel car. Funny bastard. We introduced him to Vegemite! He loved it too! Hahaha.

The "Anaconda". They hydrauliced the engine in a push start disaster on Saturday night. Scary.

Left to right, Ronny Hampshere, Jeep Hampshere and Me. Ronny and Jeep are an absolute crack up. They just tell stories from back in the day constantly. I could have listened for hours!

Rick and myself with the Magicar.

    Kenny Bernstein's Budweiser King FC.

This car is owned by a couple of Poms that live in the states. Really nice people. We got along great.

"Super Nanook". An original AA/FA from the mid 70's that Rick is currently rebuilding for someone.

A random pic on the freeway heading from San Diego back to LA to fly home..

This is just a random shot i took at the hire car depot in LA before we flew out. Kinda neat i thought..

And that's the end! Hope you enjoyed it. I know i did!

                            The Anaconda Mishap

This is what happens when an inexperienced person drives the push car. This is the kind of stuff we have to make sure doesn't happen over here.

One of Paul Shavrien's friends also got hit under the eye and needed 3 stitches. Bad stuff. This is why we do not have an o-ringed block. So if something goes wrong, it just pushes the gasket out.

Oh, and here's the video from the Cacklefest from the pushcar of the Magicar. I was also riding on the tailgate with Vince and Dennis.. Got a face full of raw nitro when Jeep lit it up and everything! haha.
