Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • well...... it was good while it lasted

yes, it was, BUT some things just have to move on, be passed on to bigger and better things, for a good cause or just bad luck, fortunately none of this was bad luck, rather than just moving to bigger and better things (i hope)

the yellow has been stripped of its now sold goodies and will be on the market as a stocker after DOVW

here's how it sits right now

im gonna miss her, especially all the looks and fans, nearly running over the odd pommie bloke who hasnt seen a mk1 like this since the old country, all the brunswick st punks and hippes starring and of corse the girls thinking its just plain CUTE!

anyways......... was good while it lasted

    Bit of a shame.
But like you said, onwards and upward to bigger and better things.

Hopefully she goes to a good home and someone appreciates her for the great car she is.

what a shame man, best street styled MK1 in aus, saw it one night briefly at the runs parked on the side of the road. At least it'll be immortalised in photos, but I think you'll really miss it once its gone. hope you get your new project soon!

It was sic but im kindo happy its back to original. Its definatly the best unrestored original example of a mk1 in Aus and one of a few in the world i think. Every "original" mk1 ive seen has been restored or has something done to it like wheels or suspention etc.

In another decade if it was kept like this it will be worth enough to ship overseas.

Cant wait to see how the WABIT turns out you crazy kent.

I dunno dude...dropped on BBS? Doesn't sound very original to me haha..

But don't get me wrong, it was a sick car. I'm really dissappointed to see it being sold, personally I think that's a bad move, but if you've gotta move on then that's it hey.

                          Good luck bro.

Definately one of my all time favourite Mk1's, used to love watchin it come down my driveway in Melburg, was fun driving it this day too, grinnin from ear to ear !!

Whats the betting you'll still have it in a year or so like i still have mine!!

Good luck with the sale Dom, hope you get some thing else that you're happy with, i'll look forward to seeing what your next project looks like.
