Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Moving vehicles around Australia

On the 9th November 2009 I will be landing in Adelaide(dont all laugh at us) after 18 months of emigrating .

I have been looking at purchasing a Golf for the wife and then a T5 Multivan a little later for myself.

So after a lot of looking at lots of different for sale sites i have come to notice that i might have to ship a vehicle across Australia.

Is this an expensive thing to do?

Can someone point me in the direction of some good companies?

What other sort of things should i know about?

    Thanks for any help

    Rob

I brought an Audi across from Brisbane to Perth which cost $1260, inlcuding insurance up to $60k

costs will vary according to distance of course - mine was about as far as you can go between capital cities!

Auto Logistics transport cars interstate, Australia wide. For carrying your running or non-running vehicle, visit us now for an instant quote!

they did a good job, no scratches etc and cleaned the car before I picked it up at their local facility.

they will home deliver, but that costs extra again.
