    hey all,

this is probably a stupid question but can you use different numbered relays or are they numbered due to different currents etc? looks like the relay for the compressor on my seat is either blown or not there as it works when you hook power up to it and the aircon works that way..

just looking at this diagram. figured i might be able to temporarily replace the relay with the fog lights one as the switch for the fog lights is currently out of action..

just took a photo and it looks pretty much the same as this one.. only i dont have a doorchime relay and HAVE the fog light one..

is the "13" AC RELAY the one that would in question? or would the fans/heater not work at all without that one?

sorry i cant see the pics (work has photobucket blocked) but i will say this.....
things to consider when choosing relays.
all the following information should be stamped on the relay somewhere.

current rating. make sure it is up to the task you are using it for. if you are not sure of the current rating of the equipment it drives match the one you are removing. most automotive relays have contact ratings of 10A or more.
contacts. the types and number of contacts on relays can vary.. again match the one you are removing. generally you will have to anyway as a different one wont plug into the same slot.
coil voltage. make sure you get the right coil voltage.
