Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hail Storm Damage

had my car parked in the work uncovered parking. the only cars not damaged from the hail storm were the people leaving early that missed it & the one person driving a vw which is myself. the toyota's & subaru's copped it the most! i found 2 minor dings that are barely noticable. 1 on the roof & 1 on the bonnet complaring to 20-50 on the jap cars. im amazed how much better the quality in the vw's are.

    That's good to hear!

With hail predicted today and having no shelter at home, I've asked my neighbour if I can use their car port if I need to.

We really must get our carport built!

as a general rule, these events are covered by insurance yes? you just pay your excess (and bump up everyone's insurance premiums next year by claiming)

I rushed home today after mum said there was hail approaching but nothing like that happened. Just heavy rain.

Don't know, wouldn't mind knowing though as mine sits in the open at work, only protected by a few trees (most of which are gum trees, known to drop limbs in zero wind)
