Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Mmm nah sorry to disappoint, but it's just not the same as the original and the best. See for yourself:

From every angle, the original was stunning. Add to that a beautiful BMW V12 engine and it's still the perfect supercar. You can stick your Veyrons and Enzos! I'll take the original McLaren F1 each and every day.

I like both! I can see how the older one makes more of a statement, but the new one is still sexy...

wow no middle-mount seating position, might be opting for a wider market in different countries?

looks not bad, nothing too spectacular

                      It looks good as but...

"Scheduled to enter production in 2010, the MP4-12C will compete with the Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Gallardo"

It needs to keep with what the original one was. The best of the best, or at least better than the F1. I guess they need the money.

I've looked at it a million times but I still can't 'love' it. The engineering behind it is outstanding and so is the fact that every part is unique to the McLaren. I've no doubt this will run rings around the Italian posse, but at the end of the day it just looks like another generic supercar.

PS: That Merc SLS is an ugly unit!!!
