VT Clubsport for the win as styled by Ian Callum of Aston Martin and Jaguar fame. This was the pinnacle of design for HSV as far as my opinion goes. They've just been trying too hard ever since then.

My favourite is how it looks like they designed all the bodykit and everything and then realised that it's slightly too big for the car so they squished it slightly to fit.

Then after that they thought, "You know Audi's look good with their DRLs lets put some on the new model". Then, "Wait there's nowhere to put them that looks good. Oh well we'll just whack them here on the bumper."

          Cheers,

Big fan of the current Maloo, but these bodykits are a bit weird really, not happy.

Will never buy another aussie car again

The standard of engineering in my GOLF MK1 outstrips any aussie car of the same era and has a lot of standard features like turning the headlights down to parkers when the engine stops that still doesn't come with newer generations, did I mention that the clock still keeps perfect time and the plastic injection return lines are still soft after thirty years! The ultimate combination for fuel efficiency FWD diesel is only now being copied by the asians. The HSV is a dinosaur, soon to be cast aside with the mentality of an America that uses 2 barrels of oil to do what takes Europe one.

                  Please.

The Euros that make similar power/torque figures aren't exactly frugal on petrol either.

                  Sorry, I forgot:

                      Im talking overall

european industry as a whole including plastics manufacture etc etc does its business at double the efficiency that america does, sure every society has its rich crew who like to indulge but one only as to look and see that new passenger car sales are around 40 % diesel in Europe. I don't own any petrol cars, so why am I a troll? Is this the HSV fan club site? Last time I looked everyone was bagging HSV in this thread

Makes me sort of sad I got rid of the E-Series 1 HSV Clubsport R8 I had... In a weird sort of way.

It was a sweet ride (for something not German). The R36 is a MUCH better overall package and keeps up with the E-Series HSVs around a track nicely.

This is the beginning of the end of HSV. They had a classy range of cars until today. Now they have riced up bogan mobiles made from the parts bin left overs thanks to the canning of the Pontiac G8 exports to the USA.

SOOOOOO glad I have the R36. Holden are claiming downhill cruise control assist is NEW, launch control is NEW, auto up on all 4 windows is NEW and still have yet to discover things like bi-xenon headlights, integrated antennas and shift paddles for autos.

I'm actually quite surprised. HSV have a history of clubsort new series always with an extra exacty 10KW. this time theyve not touched the engine (i suppose that costs them a bit of money).

I agree it looks very blingy and crass and I think the rear end of the clubsport is even worse than the series 1.

I also note that Clubsport/GTS spoilers is the same as you can buy on Holden's base model Omega. You think for all that extra cash they could whip up something a little bit different for HSV

I agree..it's unfortunate, because Holden's appeal is such an empty thing compared to that of a European car - despite being here in Australia where our stereotype says we should like them! That said...

I don't know what it is about those cars but they're just sexy. I'd rather own one of those over an R36 in terms of look any day of the week - even Tuesdays!

hope they continue to do so.

those cars look nice for chapel street mario f46s.....

well, atleast we will see plenty of mid 80's ex-taxi commodores with the latest sweet 22 inch wheels ( i reckon holden have been churning out some gorgeous wheels recently)...

meh..... family cars are all good, but i still want the twin turbo .:R which spanks 100 in 3.8 secs...... family cars with spoilers and fluro colors dont look so good next to that thing.... (sorry to anyone who adores big 2.5 tonne family cars here....with spoilers... no offence.....)
