Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Car hire for the Great Ocean Road

    howdy all

I am taking SWMBO on a few days' getaway to Melb and want to hire a cheap-ish car that will still be great fun for the Great Ocean Road.

I was looking at an MX5 or maybe even an A3 - just something good. prefer open top. prefer no more than $200 a day.

I've tried googling for the past hour. have checked all the stupid car hire sights and the sports car ones and nothing. i won't be going for a few weeks at least so no rush.

does anyone have any ideas? PM me if needed.

        How about a TT?

A mate hired one for that very drive (and got a speeding ticket too).
