Stinky brakes on a Swift

Hey guys,
My friend just bought a new Suzuki Swift and picked it up today. Pretty nifty little car, but we just found that it had a huge burning brake/rubber smell after parking it. Just wanted to check with you guys if this is normal? Or something of an emergency? I've never had this happen to any of the new cars ive come across. It had only done 9kms when we picked it up. Thanks!

Often new cars have plastic or gunk (eg travel wax) left on something that gets hot (eg exhaust) so they stink quite a bit when you first drive them, but usually it gets burnt off pretty quick and the smell dies down.

Might be worth (carefully) touching each wheel after a short drive to make sure it doesn't have a sticking brake making that brake overheat (shouldn't be too hot if you haven't been working the brakes hard). Or even have a look underneath to see if any smoke is coming of something.
