Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Love the new smooth shape of it.
Saw it a week ago on the net and tonight on topgear.
Lovely looking car.

Not a fan, I've still to find a Ferrari of this decade that I like stylistically...80,000km 1997 MK3 VR6 manual for sale - www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f23/80-000km-1997-manual-vr6-nsw-sydney-67658.html

It's almost cartoonish with that large glasshouse. Though I can't imagine you can see much out the back with the rear windscreen being a glass engine cover more than a windscreen - reversing cameras would be a necessity - I wonder at one stage cars like this just have a rear-facing camera and an LCD screen in place of the rear view mirror?
I do like the lines though - the longer you look at it, the more details you discover.
They've gone back to triple exhausts as well - single (centre) exhaust at low revs, the outer pipes opening up as revs increase - helps them pass drive-by emissions laws apparently!Last edited by Manaz; 03-08-2009, 10:05 PM.Nothing to see here...

It looks pretty fantastic.
Like the California though I'm not liking their shift to single rear lights. Doesn't sit well at all. Look at the Ferrari F430 and Enzo rear ends. The dual lights sitting up the top on each side looks really good. The single light is fail.
Still the front and side on looks fantastic.

http://www.teamspeed.com has created several more 458 Italia renderings.
The 458 isn't going to be unveiled until Frankfurt, and the Spider is probably a long way off, but these renderings show just how sexy a 458 Italia droptop could be.
TeamSpeed.com also tinkered with the standard car, to create a possible Ferrari 458 Italia Challenge * drools *
And never to be outdone by Lamborghini, concepts of the 458 Italia Polizia have also been released.
