Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Roads Minister Suspends Proposed Suspension Mod Regulations Indefinitely

THE NSW MINISTER for Roads Michael Daley has agreed to delay the introduction of proposed legislation that would have restricted suspension height changes to just 5cm above or below a car’s standard ride height.

Intense pressure from off-road groups, aftermarket associations and car enthusiasts forced Mr Daley to reconsider the draconian modification rules.

Good news for you New South Walers! It's a bit of a rediculous law IMO.

That's good news indeed. AS much as we whinge about being the end user and it costins us more, the damage to business should also be considered.

It was pretty poorly documented, the information available was so scarce that it would have been near impossible to implement and enforce.

Yep, it was bloody ridiculous, and as far as their so-called "standard height" for a given model, even a walk around a car yard putting a tape measure on new vehicles would show the height can vary substantially on the same model new car!
